- The Sigatoka River Valley is referred to as 'The Salad Bowl' because a majority of Fiji's crops are grown there.
-The sand dunes at the mouth of the Sigatoka River Valley have uncovered human remains from over a a couple thousand
years ago!
-In the Sigatoka River Valley, the temperatures can reach up to 50 degrees celsius! Wow thats hot, good thing theres
some shade in that area because those kind of temperatures plus the humidity could make for some difficult working conditions.
-The population of Fiji only consists of 800,000 people. 50% of them being natives of Fiji (myself), 47% Indian and South
Pacific Islanders, and the remaing 3% consisting of people with Chinese and European backgrounds.
-Throughout the area there are hotsprings that people can swim in. The only problem with this though is that most people
would most likely want to jump in cold water rather than the hot water because of the temperature and humidity!!
